Pengaruh Metode Pengajaran Discovery Learning Pada Pembelajaran Kimia terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi Siswa

The Discovery Learning teaching method is one of the instructional approaches that encourages students to discover concepts on their own. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of the Discovery Learning method on students' higher-order thinking in chemistry education. This study uses a quasi-experimental approach with a pre-test and post-test control group design. Sampling was carried out using cluster random sampling techniques. The sample consisted of 60 senior high school students. Students in the experimental group were exposed to Discovery Learning, while those in the control group received conventional instruction. Data collection was conducted using a higher-order thinking test instrument for students. The validity of the test instrument and the questionnaire was assessed by expert judgment. Data analysis was performed using an independent t-test. The results of the study indicate that Discovery Learning plays a significant role in enhancing students' higher-order thinking in chemistry.
